Front Drive Shafts — general information (Peugeot J5)

On all models, the front drive shafts have so-called three-axis joints on the gearbox side, which can move in internal V-grooves, and on the wheel side, homokinetic constant velocity joints that are not capable of displacement. It should be noted that during the production process, the outer hinges were modified at least once. This should be taken into account when making replacements. In addition, the left and right drive shafts are not the same, since the right shaft has a thrust bearing. The nut at the end of the drive shaft has a tightening torque of 500 Nm and is locked. The drive shafts are shown in Figure 111.
