Removal



1. Remove the center console as described in chapter 11.

2. Carefully release the clamps and slide the backlight unit out of the cigarette lighter base; be extremely careful not to break any electrical contacts.

3. Remove the cigarette lighter heating element, then release the tabs and push out the metal insert/power socket. After this, you can remove the plastic outer section from the console.

Installation



4. Align the tab on the plastic outer section with the cutout, then insert the section into the console.

5. Align the lamp socket contact on the metal insert with the holder tabs on the plastic outer section, and then secure the insert in place.

6. Slide the backlight unit into the metal insert and securely snap it into place on the plastic outer section.

7. Make sure the cigarette lighter is assembled correctly, and then install the center console.
