Note: Before attempting work on any of the central locking system components, disconnect the battery negative terminal (refer to "Disconnecting the battery"). Reconnect the lead on completion of work.
Electronic control unit
1. At the time of writing, no information was available for the electronic control unit.
Door lock actuator
2. The actuator is attached to the door lock assembly and can be detached from the lock after removing the lock assembly as described in Section 13.
Tailgate lock actuator
Removal
3. Open the tailgate.
4. Remove the two screws securing the tailgate trim panel, then release the securing clips and withdraw the panel from the tailgate.
5. If necessary, to improve access, remove the lock cylinder as described in Section 16.
6. Disconnect the actuator wiring connector.
7. Remove the securing screws and withdraw the actuator, disconnecting the operating rod as the actuator is withdrawn.
Refitting
8. Refitting is a reversal of removal.
Remote control receiver unit
Removal
9. Where applicable, remove the securing screw and withdraw the sunroof crank handle.
10. Remove the courtesy light and the map reading light, as applicable, as described in Chapter 12.
11. Remove the securing screws, then lower the roof console and disconnect the wiring connectors.
12. Release the securing clips and remove the receiver unit from the top of the console.
Refitting
13. Refitting is a reversal of removal.
Remote control transmitter batteries - renewal
14. Using a small screwdriver, carefully prise the two halves of the transmitter apart and remove the two batteries, noting which way round they are fitted.
15. Fit the two new batteries, ensuring that they are fitted the correct way round; the battery and transmitter terminals are marked "+" and to avoid confusion. Clip the transmitter back together.
