The management of different types of information occurs depending on their priorities and the type of support. These types of information can be transmitted by several supporting information elements simultaneously.

For example: the STOP indicator and the coolant overheating indicator light come on, or two types of warnings are triggered: one warning on the central multifunction display, the other in the form of an audible signal emitted by the buzzer under the steering wheel.

ECU (electronic control unit) the instrument cluster exchanges data with other computers and has self-diagnostic functions.

Controls:

Controls:
1 - instrument cluster (indicating devices, liquid crystal display, alarms and indicators);
2 - multifunctional display (warnings, information, etc.);
3 - air conditioning control panel;
4 - buzzer integrated into the switching module under the steering wheel.

Warning Signal Priority Levels

The presentation of alarm alerts is controlled by the priority level, regardless of the information support (except for the specific case of displaying windows on a multifunctional display).

The priority levels are controlled by the vehicle's "intelligent" switching unit (BSI1), which allows classification between the different types of information processed by the following two information supports:

  • multifunctional display;
  • buzzer integrated into the switching module under the steering wheel.

Note: A higher-level warning interrupts a lower-level warning. A lower-level warning continues to be issued after the higher-level warning cycle has ended. Warnings of the same priority level appear one after another.
