Removal
1. Drain the fluid from the hydraulic steering system.
2. Loosen the pump mounting bolts and remove the drive belt.
3. Unscrew the high and low pressure pipes on the pump.
4. Unscrew the bolts and remove the pump.
Installation and adjustment
1. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
2. Tightening torque 55 Nm for a new belt and 30 Nm for a reused belt.
3. Fill the system with liquid and check for leaks.
Leakage control
1. Visually inspect the mating surfaces, gaskets and seals for water, oil or fuel leaks.
2. Pay particular attention to the areas around the camshaft seal, cylinder head, oil filter and oil pan parting surfaces. Keep in mind that some minor leakage is to be expected from these areas over time. If a leak is found, replace the gasket or seal.
3. Also check the condition of all pipes and hoses connected to the engine.
