Removal
1.9 liter engine models
1. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the front of the head and remove the air filter pipe.
2. Unscrew the fuel supply hose bracket mounting bolt on the right side of the head.
3. Remove the control diaphragm vacuum hose, remove the two bolts and move the diaphragm to the side.
4. Unscrew the two head mounting bolts and remove them with the washers.
5. Move aside all the hoses that are located above the cylinder head.
6. Remove the head cover together with the rubber gasket. Check the condition of the gasket and replace it if necessary.
2.1 liter engine models
7. Remove the upper timing belt cover.
8. Remove the upper part of the exhaust manifold.
9. Remove the ventilation hose from the front of the head.
10. Pay attention to the location of the hoses attached to the head cover, then unscrew the 11 bolts gradually in a spiral pattern.
11. Move aside all the hoses that are located above the cylinder head.
12. Remove the head cover together with the rubber gasket. Check the condition of the gasket and replace it if necessary.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, and the following steps must be performed:
- install all brackets and hoses to their original positions;
- install the exhaust manifold (2.1 liter engines).
