2. Drain hydraulic fluid.
3. Jack up the front of the vehicle, place it on jack stands and remove the front wheels.
4. Unscrew the nuts 1 of the fingers of the ball bearings of the transverse steering rods (see illustration).

5. Press out the pins of the ball joints using a puller «A» and disconnect the tie rod ends from the steering knuckles (see illustration 13.4).
6. Remove the heat deflector 2 and then the downpipe 3 (see illustration).

7. Remove the heat-reflecting shield of the gear rack of the steering mechanism.
8. Disconnect drafts of switching and a choice of transfers.
9. Disconnect lever 4 (see illustration 13.6).
10. Disconnect the pressure pipe from the valve.
11. Unscrew bolt 5 and bolts 6 securing the steering gear to the subframe (see illustration).

12. Unscrew the bolts 7 fastening the steering mechanism to the subframe (see illustration).

13. Remove and replace with new washers 10 and gears 8 and 9 (see illustration).

14. Disconnect the steering shaft from the steering mechanism.
15. Move the steering gear to the left and remove it (see illustration).

The steering mechanism is installed in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
16. Always replace self-locking nuts 11 with new ones (see illustration 13.13). The tightening torque of bolts 12 for fastening the steering gear housing is 70 Nm, bolts 13-25 Nm (see illustration 13.13). The tightening torque for the wheel bolts is 90 Nm.
17. Bleed the power steering hydraulic drive.
18. Adjust the camber and toe of the front wheels.
Attention! Adjusting the camber and toe of the front wheels is recommended to entrust to a specialized workshop.
