Note: Since the oil filter must also be removed when the oil cooler is removed, the filter must be handled with care in this case so as not to damage it. Therefore, in such cases, it is recommended to remove the filter only with a special key. If the filter is not needed, it can be reinstalled.
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Put the front of the car on the gantry.
3. Drain the coolant (see relevant chapter) or clamp the hoses with which the oil cooler is connected to the engine cooling system with clamps. A small amount of coolant will still leak out.
4. Place a suitable container under the oil filter and remove the filter.
5. Loosen the coolant hose clamps on the oil cooler and disconnect the hoses.
6. Turn out bolts of fastening of an oil radiator and remove a radiator together with a sealing lining.
7. Install a new O-ring into the groove on the back of the oil cooler and install the cooler on the cylinder block. Tighten the oil cooler mounting bolt to 58 Nm and connect the coolant hoses to it.
8. Replace the oil filter.
9. Lower the car on the wheels and fill in the coolant or replenish its volume.
10. Check the engine oil level and top up if necessary.
11. Start the engine. After a while, inspect the oil cooler and make sure there is no leakage of coolant and engine oil.
