Heating and ventilation system
Typically, heating and ventilation controls include: (pic. 8, a, b):
Pic. 8, a. Heating and ventilation controls (option 1)
1. Fan speed controller
2. Air temperature controller
3. Air distribution regulator
Pic. 8, b. Heating and ventilation controls (option 2)
1. Fan speed controller
2. Air temperature controller
3. Air distribution regulator
Fan speed controller
To increase the fan speed, turn the knob clockwise. It is recommended to run the blower at low speed.
Warning. When the blower fan is off, the windshield may fog up under certain weather conditions.
The fan speed control may have an air recirculation position. The air recirculation mode should be used primarily to prevent the penetration of unpleasant odors from the outside.
Attention! When using the air recirculation mode, the windows tend to become covered with moisture faster. Return to fresh air mode as soon as possible.
Note. It is not recommended to use the air recirculation mode for more than 30 minutes as no air is exchanged in this mode.
Air temperature controller
For a cooler interior climate, turn the control counterclockwise.
For a higher temperature in the passenger compartment, turn the knob clockwise.
Air distribution controller
The regulator has four main provisions:
- All air flow is directed towards the face
- All air flow is directed to the footwell
- The airflow is directed towards the windshield, door glass and footwell
- All air flow is directed towards the windshield.
At your discretion, the regulator can be set to any intermediate position.
All variants are equipped with one heater, but some may have an additional automatic heater.
Note. Details on the settings of the controls for various driving conditions are given in the paragraph «Vehicle operation».
Climate control
In the case of equipping a car with an air conditioning system, the controls for heating and ventilation are almost the same (pic. 8, in). But in addition there is an on / off button for the air conditioner, located on the central panel of buttons (see above).
Pic. 8, c. Heating and ventilation controls (option with air conditioning)
1. Fan speed controller
2. Air temperature controller
3. Air distribution regulator
Note. The air conditioner only works when the engine is running and the fan is on (when the fan control is set to other than OFF).
Use the air conditioner for cooling air only. A suitable system is sufficient for heating and ventilation (see above).
To keep the air conditioner in good working order, it is recommended to turn it on at least once a month for about 10 seconds in winter.
Warning. The air conditioner is charged with environmentally friendly R134a refrigerant. Never mix this refrigerant with chlorinated R12 refrigerant. All work on the refrigerant circuit must only be carried out by properly trained personnel.
Note. Information on the settings of the controls with the air conditioner on for various driving conditions is given in paragraph «Vehicle operation»
