Removing
Attention! All Nyloc nuts loosened during removal must be replaced with new ones. The threads of these nuts are coated with an anti-twist compound that is only effective the first time the nut is used.
1. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands. Remove the corresponding front wheel.
2. In the engine compartment, remove the protective plastic cap from the top of the A-pillar. Unscrew, but not completely, the two nuts of the upper mounting of the front pillar (indicated by arrows).
3. Disconnect the electrical wires and hoses from the rack.
4. Unscrew the bolt securing the anti-roll bar connector to the strut and separate the connector from the strut.
5. Unscrew the nut and remove the clamping bolt securing the strut to the steering knuckle. To prevent the knuckle and hub from dropping when the strut is removed, wire the lower arm or hub to the lower frame.
6. To ease the removal of the steering knuckle from the strut, install a spring compressor and lightly compress the springs.
7. Insert the lever into the groove in the steering knuckle, and expand the groove so that you can remove the steering knuckle from the rack.
8. Remove the steering knuckle from the strut, then finally unscrew the two nuts of the upper strut mounting, and remove the strut from under the wheel arch.
Installation
1. Install the A-pillar in place so that the top mount plate dowel pin is properly seated in the corresponding hole. Align the lower end of the strut with the steering knuckle. In this case, it is necessary to combine the slot in the clamp of the steering knuckle with the protrusion at the end of the rack.
2. Check that the bottom of the strut is exactly aligned with the steering knuckle. Insert the clamping bolt from the rear of the vehicle and secure it with a new nut.
3. Screw the anti-roll bar connector to the strut.
4. Screw on the top rack mounting nuts and tighten them to the required torque.
5. Loosen and then remove the spring compressor.
6. Attach the electrical wires and hoses to the rack bracket.
7. Install the wheel and lower the car.
