Mounting the secondary shaft bearing on a press


Snap ring groove (indicated by the arrow) should be directed outward.

1. Remove with a puller (if necessary) 5th gear pinion and bearing.

2. Remove the 3rd and 4th gear block, the 2nd gear and its sleeve, as well as the 1st–2nd gear synchronizer.

3. Remove the 1st gear pinion, the support needle bearing, and the bearing retaining ring.

4. Secure the end of the shaft with a nut and remove the bearing on the press.

5. Replace the bearing with a new one and install it on the shaft on the press. To do this, use a special tubular mandrel or device 8.0317 E.

6. Insert the bearing retaining ring. Insert the support needle bearing and 1st gear.

7. Install 1-2 gear synchronizer; the lifting of the synchronizer teeth must be directed towards the main gear drive pinion. The markings on the hub and sliding clutch made during disassembly must be observed.



8. Install the 2nd gear pinion together with its sleeve.

9. Install the 3rd and 4th gear block.
