Type − Dual-circuit brake system with diagonally arranged circuits and a brake force regulator. With or without ABS. With brake booster. The parking brake locks the rear wheels. The front wheel brakes are ventilated disc brakes. Depending on the engine type, the rear brakes may also be disc brakes.

Front wheel brakes



Type-Disk companies Girling (Girling) or Lucas (Lucas) with a floating bracket with one piston. Jumpy and Scudo vehicles with Bendix 5-series brakes.


Disc brake type: Ventilated on all models

Brake disc diameter: 281.0 mm (for Jumpy and Scudo cars 257.0 mm)

Brake disc thickness:
  • ventilated disc brakes - 20.4 mm (Jumpy and Scudo). The rest have 26.0 mm

Minimum permissible brake disc thickness
  • ventilated disc brakes - 18.4 mm (Jumpy and Scudo). The rest have 24.0 mm

Caliper cylinder diameter is 57.0 mm for all models

Permissible minimum thickness of brake pads (without backing plate) - 2.0 mm for all models

The maximum permissible axial runout of the brake disc is 0.07 mm

Rear drum brakes



Manufacturer: Bendix, with automatic adjustment

Wheel brake cylinder diameter: 20.60 mm (for Jumpy and Scudo cars 19.0 mm)

Brake drum diameter: 255.0 mm for all models

The maximum permissible brake drum diameter is 256.0 mm for all models

The minimum permissible thickness of brake linings is 1.0 mm (1.5 mm when tested)

Rear disc brakes



Manufacturer: Bendix FR 36 with fixed bracket



Brake disc diameter: 295.0 mm

Brake disc thickness: 10.0 mm

The minimum permissible thickness of the brake disc is 8.0 mm

Maximum permissible axial runout of the brake disc. - 0.07 mm

Caliper cylinder diameter: 36.0 mm

Brake pad thickness: 17.0 mm

Permissible minimum thickness of brake pads (without backing plate) − 7.0 mm

Brake master cylinder



Piston diameter: 23.8 mm (for Jumpy and Scudo cars 22.2 mm)

Brake fluid



Replacement - in accordance with SAE J 1703 DOT 4 every 40,000 km or every 2 years

ABS - Bendix. With speed sensors on each wheel and a brake force regulator that operates depending on the vehicle load

Tightening torques



Bleed nipples - 8 Nm

Brake hose nuts - 17 Nm

Union nuts for pipelines - 15 Nm

Front wheel brake caliper pins - 30 Nm

Front wheel brake shield bolts - 120 Nm

Rear wheel brake caliper bolts - 30 Nm

Rear wheel hub bolts - 100 Nm

Wheel mounting bolts - 100 Nm

Brake disc on hub - 25 Nm

Brake drum on hub - 25 Nm

Rear wheel brake cylinder lines - 17 Nm

Brake master cylinder lines - 13 Nm

Brake master cylinder nuts - 14 Nm

Brake booster mounting nuts - 15 Nm

Parking brake lever bolts - 15 Nm

ABS sensor mounting bolts to steering knuckle - 10 Nm
