- remove the steering gear;
Attention! To prevent dirt from entering the power steering circuit, close the two holes in the control valve and in the two power steering pipes with plastic plugs.

- unscrew bolt 1 (pic. 8.14);
- remove spring 2 and sealing ring 3;

- remove support 1 (pic. 8.15) gear rack and ring 2;
- Cover the hole with a lint-free cloth to keep dirt out.
Install the gear rack support in the following order:
- lubricate the parts with TOTAL N3945 grease;
- install ring 2 and support 1;
- install spring 2 (see fig. 8.14);
- set the gear rack to the middle position and tighten the bolt 1 with a torque of 5 Nm;
- several times move the gear rack from one stop to another;
- set the gear rack to the middle position;
- adjust the gap between the gear rack and the support;
- install the steering gear on the car.
