Ignition coils (TU5 petrol engine) (Peugeot 207)

The compact ignition coil unit consists of two ignition coils with two high voltage outputs each. The unit is mounted directly above the spark plugs. The dual ignition coil has two independent primary and two secondary windings. Each secondary winding output is connected to a spark plug.

The ECU has two power stages and alternately controls each primary winding of the ignition coils. Based on information from the speed sensor and the crankshaft position, the ECU selects pairs of cylinders ½ or ⅔.
