General information about the ignition system of gasoline engines of the EP series (Peugeot 207)

Power stages and ignition coil control are integrated into the Bosch MEV 17.4 engine ECU (there is no separate ignition unit).

The ECU supplies power to each primary coil winding in the firing order of each cylinder (1-3-4-2).

The ignition timing is synchronized by camshaft position sensors.

Features of electrical equipment

The ignition coil has a three-pin connector.

Purpose of connector contacts:

• "a" channel 1 - command to turn on the ignition;
• "b" channel 2 - 12V power supply;
• "c" channel 3 - "mass".
