Conditions for cleaning and reassembling the internal combustion engine (Peugeot 207)

When performing work, do not use abrasives or scratching tools on the surfaces to be joined. Clean the threaded holes with taps. Install clean parts that are free of defects during assembly (cracks, burrs, impact marks). Lubricate parts as they are installed (if necessary). The following are the components that must be replaced after each removal:

• gaskets;
• cotter pins;
• retaining rings and washers;
• single-use bolts and nuts.

Observe the pairing of the following components:

• connecting rod caps with connecting rods;
• crankshaft bearing caps with cylinder block;
• connecting rod/piston assembly with cylinder block liners;
• hydraulic tappets with cylinder head;
• valves with cylinder head.
