2. Maintenance of the exhaust system is limited to checking it for leaks and repairing or replacing damaged parts. For repairing pipes and mufflers (including ends and elbows) Holts Flexiwrap and Holts Gun Gum can be used. Holts firegum is used for sealing seams and joints. As a general rule, if one of the sections of the system needs to be replaced, it is best to replace the complete system.
3. When removing the old system, you can simply cut the rusted and "simmered" connections. In any case, new bolts, nuts, etc. will be required for assembly.
4. When assembling the system sections, seal the seams with a special sealant. Install the system without tightening the fasteners yet and properly align it so that none of its parts are under tension. Make sure everything is in order, tighten the mounting bolts and nuts. If the elastic hangers are cracked or otherwise defective, they should be replaced. Otherwise, the vibration of the system can lead to loss of tightness and even damage to parts of the system (see pictures).
5. If there is a spring-loaded coupling between the front and intermediate pipes, it should be tightened so as to compress the springs by 3 mm (compared to their free length). In order to prevent the clutch from "was noisy", it should be lubricated with special high-temperature grease.
