1. The fuel tank is located under the bottom between the rear wheels. Details of the fuel tank system are shown in B / fig. 3.14.
2. Before removing the tank, drain as much fuel as possible from it. In order to get to the fuel supply hose and the fuel level sensor, it is necessary to remove the plastic cover in the luggage compartment floor. Disconnect all wires, pipes and hoses from the tank (see attached drawing and photos), unscrew the fixing screws of the tank, pull it out of the support collars and remove it from the machine (see pictures).
3. Do not attempt to repair the tank yourself unless you are sure that it contains neither fuel nor fuel vapors. The tank must be steam cleaned before repair, so it is best to entrust the repair to a specialist.
Unleaded fuel
1. Models with XU5S engine can run on unleaded fuel (95 octane) provided that the ignition is made later by 2°.
2. All other engines run on leaded fuel only (with an octane rating of 97). Valve seats may be damaged if unleaded fuel is used.
