
1. The fuel tank is located under the bottom between the rear wheels. The fuel tank system details are shown in B/Figure 3.14.
2. Before removing the tank, drain as much fuel as possible from it. To access the fuel supply hose and fuel level sensor, you need to remove the plastic cover in the luggage compartment floor. Disconnect all wires, tubes and hoses from the tank (see the attached drawing and photographs), unscrew the tank mounting screws, pull it out of the support flanges and remove it from the car (see photos).

3. Do not attempt to repair the tank yourself unless you are sure that it does not contain any fuel or fuel vapor. Before repair, the tank must be steam cleaned, so it is best to entrust its repair to a specialist.
Unleaded fuel
1. Models with XU5S engine can run on unleaded fuel (with an octane rating of 95) provided that the ignition is done 2° later.
2. All other engines run only on leaded fuel (with an octane rating of 97). Using unleaded fuel may damage the valve seats.
