Due to the use of a transfer case and the shifting of the differential to the right side of the vehicle, the drive shaft assemblies have a specific design. There is no intermediate bearing on the right side. The removal method is the same for both sides.
Selected Recommendations
Left side: it is not necessary to drain the oil from the gearbox.
Right side: Tilt the vehicle slightly to the left side to prevent oil from flowing out of the transfer case.
In vehicles equipped with anti-lock brakes, disconnect the wheel sensor (from the respective side).
Follow the steps for a front-wheel drive vehicle (Right side).
During installation, lubricate the bearing surface of the left axle shaft at the output of the gearbox with Molykote BR2 Plus grease and replace the O-ring on the output of the transfer case on the right side.
