Please note: Coolant replacement is not required as part of maintenance. GLYSANTIN G33 or REVKOGEL 2000, which has anti-corrosion and frost-protective properties, is used as a coolant. At the same time, the condition of the cooling system, as well as the concentration of the coolant, should be checked. When performing certain types of repairs, the coolant must be drained. Reuse of drained coolant is not permitted.

1. Check the cooling system hoses for porosity by squeezing and bending them. Replace hardened or swollen hoses. The hoses should not sit too shallow on the connecting fittings.

2. Check the tightness of the hose clamps. If necessary, replace the old clamps with screw clamps.

3. Check the condition of the expansion tank cap gasket and ensure there is no damage.

Noticeable loss of coolant and/or presence of oil in it, as well as white exhaust gases when the engine is warm, indicate a defect in the cylinder head gasket.

Caution! Locating a leak can sometimes be difficult. In this case, you should contact a workshop that has a special device for testing the cooling system under pressure.

Coolant

A visual check of the coolant level should be performed at least once a week. The coolant level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the expansion tank. Cooling system leaks are usually detected by a white or rust-colored coating near the leak. Carefully inspect the radiator and coolant circulation hoses. Replace hoses with cracks, breaks or signs of aging. Pay special attention to the hose clamps. Clamps that are too tight can cause the hose to burst. Inspect all hoses and their connection points.

The coolant does not require replacement throughout the entire service life of the vehicle. However, it is necessary to change the coolant after carrying out any work on the cooling system components that required draining the coolant. If the cylinder head, head gaskets, radiator or oil cooler have been replaced, then fresh coolant should be added to the system. This is due to the fact that the anti-corrosion additive in the coolant precipitates during engine operation, forming a protective film. The anti-corrosion properties of the old coolant are insufficient to create a protective layer on newly installed parts.

Caution! The cooling system is under pressure, so allow the engine to cool for at least one hour after turning it off before adding coolant.
