1. This procedure is required only after any part of the hydraulic system has been disconnected.
2. Remove the filler cap of the booster reservoir and add the prescribed fluid up to the MAX mark on the side of the reservoir (early models) or up to the Cold mark on the dipstick built into the filler cap (later models).
3. With the engine off, slowly turn the steering wheel from lock to lock approximately 10 times to remove accumulated air, and then add fluid in such an amount that the level again reaches the MAX mark on the tank wall or the Cold mark on the dipstick built into the cover filler neck (whichever is applicable). Repeat this procedure until the fluid level in the reservoir stops falling.
4. Start the engine and allow it to idle for two to three minutes without moving the steering wheel during this period. Turn off the engine and, if necessary, add fluid again to the MAX mark on the tank wall or the Cold mark on the dipstick.
5. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel slowly from lock to lock a few times to remove any remaining air from the system. Repeat this procedure until no more air bubbles appear in the amplifier reservoir.
6. After removing all traces of air from the power steering hydraulic system, turn off the engine and allow the system to cool. After cooling, check that the fluid level is at the MAX mark on the side of the reservoir or the Cold mark on the dipstick, and add fluid if necessary.
