Search for a faulty consumer in the following sequence:
- remove the wire «masses» from the negative battery terminal. Connect a multimeter between the negative terminal of the battery and the cable removed from the battery. If the device shows the presence of current, then there is a faulty consumer in the network;
- connect the wire «masses» with negative battery terminal. Open the fuse box cover and remove one of the fuses. Connect a multimeter to free contacts. If there is no current in the circuit, then the circuit under test is OK. Small current is not a cause for concern. Devices such as the on-board computer, clock, radio and alarms are constantly energized. The amount of electricity consumed by them is much less than in the presence of a defective consumer of electricity;
- repeat similar measurements on the mounting block until your multimeter shows an increased current value in this circuit. According to the wiring diagram provided in this manual, you can determine which consumers are included in this circuit;
- turn off consumers in sequence in the circuit under test, each time measuring the current. When the multimeter does not show the passage of current, we can assume that you have found a faulty element.
