To remove the windshield wiper motor, follow these steps:
  • disconnect the negative battery cable;
  • remove the wiper arms from the shafts;
  • on petrol models, remove the air duct connecting the air cleaner to the intake manifold;
  • remove the seal from the top end of the bulkhead, then, starting from the middle and moving towards the edges, disconnect the left section of the water separator;

  • disconnect the clamps 1 (figure 10.10) left section from the right and remove it from under the windshield;

  • remove bolt 1 (figure 10.11) mounts located under the windshield wiper motor;
  • unscrew the nuts securing the levers on each shaft, remove the washers and disconnect the electric drive from the body;
  • disconnect the electric motor connector and remove the electric drive from the vehicle;

  • mark the position of the electric drive shaft relative to the crank, then unscrew nut 1 (figure 10.12) fasteners, remove the washer and disconnect the lever mechanism rod from the drive shaft (figure 10.12);
  • unscrew the 2 mounting bolts and disconnect the electric drive from the lever mechanism.

Install the windshield wiper electric drive in the reverse order of removal.
