Controlled headlight:
1 - ECU for controlled headlights;
2 - low beam lamps;
3 - high beam lamps;
4 - optical block;
5 - headlights with directional light distribution.
Controlled headlight system (adaptive lighting) equipped with xenon lamps (type D2R). These lamps do not have filaments, their light is created by two electrodes in a quartz ampoule containing gas under high pressure (xenon). Xenon lamps have a service life four times longer than an incandescent lamp.
Attention: Before any operation involving the removal/installation of headlights with xenon lamps or the replacement of a faulty lamp, it is essential to disconnect the battery.
Controlled headlights are oriented depending on the angle and direction of the steering wheel and the speed of the car. Turning headlights illuminate the road space in the direction of the car's turn and allow one lamp (xenon) to perform the functions of low and high beam.
Switching from high beam to low beam is achieved by dimming (mechanical curtain), controlled by an electromagnet at any position of the turning headlight.
