Gearbox primary shaft speed sensor

The speed sensor is located at the input shaft of the gearbox, which is connected to the torque converter turbine.

The sensor sends information to the transmission ECU about the speed at the input to the transmission.

This information allows the transmission ECU to:
  • determine the degree of slippage in the torque converter (difference between engine speed and gearbox input shaft speed);
  • make a decision about gear shifting (ECU).

Original text is located at: www.PeugeotBook.ru

The sensor consists of a winding and a magnetic core.

The information sent to the transmission computer is an alternating current voltage that varies depending on the speed of the transmission input shaft (frequency variation).

Supply voltage: 12 V.
