- disconnect the parking brake cable 3 from the caliper (pic. 8.14);
- remove the cover from the compensation tank of the brake system, close the neck of the tank with polyethylene and screw the cover back on. This is necessary so that the lid hermetically closes the expansion tank;
- unscrew the connecting nut 2 fastening the brake hose to the caliper and close the brake hose with a plastic plug;
- unscrew two bolts 1 and remove the caliper with the caliper holder.
To install the rear brake caliper:

Pic. 8.13. LUCAS front brake caliper: 1 - cuff; 2 - piston; 3 - support; 4 - protective corrugated caps
- check that there are no brake fluid leaks from under the piston 2 (see fig. 8.13);
- check the condition and proper fit of the cuff 1 and protective corrugated caps 4;
- check the brake disc for cracks, especially around the wheel bolt holes, as well as for wear or mechanical damage, and replace both discs if necessary;
- measure the thickness of the brake disc;
- make sure that the guide pins of the caliper slide freely;
- if necessary, replace defective parts;
- install the caliper holder with caliper;
- fix the caliper holder with bolts and tighten them with a torque of 32 Nm;
- install the brake hose on the caliper and tighten the brake hose connecting nut to 15 Nm;
- install the parking brake cable and fasten it to the lever;
- install brake pads;
- remove air from the hydraulic circuit of the brake system;
- install the wheel and secure with bolts, tightening them with a torque of 90 Nm.
