The amount of boost during emergency braking increases when the speed of pressing the brake pedal exceeds a certain limit (factory adjusted).
Control allows you to check the operation of the system, but does not allow you to determine the threshold value of the speed at which the system is activated.
For preliminary diagnosis:
- drive at a speed of 50 km/h in 3rd gear;
- gently press the brake pedal until you reach the usual effort, as when driving around the city;
- maintain this effort until the car comes to a complete stop;
- continue to maintain this effort with the vehicle stopped and remember it;
- release the brake pedal;
- drive at a speed of 50 km/h in 3rd gear;
- quickly press the brake pedal with force, as in the previous case;
- at the same time, the force on the brake pedal should become lighter, and the deceleration should be very sharp (ABS system is active). Otherwise, there is a malfunction in the system and the brake master cylinder must be replaced.
Accurate control of emergency braking assistance must be carried out at a Peugeot Dealership using the following instruments:
- brake pedal force monitor 0808-ZY;
- air outlet fitting mounted on caliper 0808-D;
- brake test stand with certified PEUGEOT pedal force measuring instrument.
Possible malfunctions of the additional boost control system during emergency braking of the EVA BOSCH system, the causes and methods for their elimination are given in the table.
