Preliminary diagnostics of additional assistance during emergency braking can be carried out independently without the use of special equipment.

The degree of assistance during emergency braking increases when the speed of pressing the brake pedal exceeds a certain limit (factory adjusted).

The control allows you to check the operation of the system, but does not allow you to determine the threshold speed at which the system is triggered.

For preliminary diagnostics:
  • drive at 50 km/h in 3rd gear;
  • press the brake pedal gently until you reach the usual force, as when driving in the city;
  • maintain this force until the car comes to a complete stop;
  • continue to maintain this force on the stopped car and remember it;
  • release the brake pedal;
  • drive at 50 km/h in 3rd gear;
  • quickly press the brake pedal with force, as in the previous case;
  • at the same time, the force on the brake pedal should become lighter, and deceleration should be very sharp (the ABS system is active). Otherwise, there is a fault in the system and the master brake cylinder must be replaced.

Accurate control of the additional assistance during emergency braking must be carried out at a Peugeot service station using the following instruments:
  • brake pedal force monitoring device 0808-ZY;
  • air bleed nipple installed on the 0808-D caliper;
  • brake test bench with certified PEUGEOT pedal force measuring device.
