When completely disassembling, thoroughly clean the cylinder block and remove all foreign particles from the cavities and lubrication channels. The lubrication channels can be cleaned well thanks to the threaded plugs that can be unscrewed. The liquid used to flush and clean the unit must be completely removed. If possible, dry the unit after cleaning with compressed air. Make sure that no oil gets into the cylinder head bolt holes. If oil is found in the holes, be sure to remove it.
The cylinder block surface distortion is checked in the same way as the cylinder head distortion. Measure the cylinder block surface in longitudinal, transverse and diagonal directions. The thickness of the measuring template, which can freely fit under the installed ruler, should not exceed 0.05 mm.
Caution! Before you begin resurfacing the cylinder block, contact a workshop to confirm whether the cylinder block can be resurfaced.
