Engine management system BOSCH MOTRONIC MP7.3 (Peugeot 206)

Later models with a 1.4-liter engine can be equipped with the BOSCH MOTRONIC MP7.3 control system. This system is supplemented by a pulsed air injection system and has been further improved due to the introduction of stricter exhaust gas toxicity standards. The system provides sequential fuel injection into the cylinders. A vertical acceleration sensor is installed on the car body, from which the ECU receives information about the quality of the road surface. This allows the system to distinguish engine vibrations caused by unevenness of the road.

To determine the position of the piston of the first cylinder at the top dead center, a sensor is installed on the camshaft. An additional oxygen sensor is installed behind the catalytic converter. The crankshaft speed at idle is controlled by a stepper motor installed on the throttle body.
