Rear caliper
1 - caliper holder mounting bolt, 2 - bleed valve, 3 - handbrake lever spring, 4 - caliper, 5 - caliper holder, 6 - guide pin assembly, 7 - repair kit
Warning! Brake pads generate brake dust, which contains asbestos, which is harmful to health. Therefore, when cleaning the brake pads, do not use compressed air or inhale dust.
Attention! At installation it is necessary to use new bolts of fastening of a directing finger.
Removing
1. Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands.
2. Remove the corresponding rear wheel.
3. Using a G-clip, pinch off the brake hose.
4. Remove brake pads.
5. Clean the dirt around the connection of the brake pipe and caliper, then loosen the brake hose to the caliper.
6. Remove the dust cover with a lever, then unscrew the lower bolt of the guide pin of the caliper, while it is necessary to keep the guide pin from turning with the second key.
7. Remove the caliper and unscrew it from the brake hose.
8. Plug the brake hose and the hole in the caliper.
Repair
Repair of the rear caliper is similar to the repair of the front caliper (see subsection 12.10).
Removing air from the caliper
Attention! This operation must be performed every time the caliper has been disassembled or the brake fluid drained from it.
1. Reconnect the brake hose to the caliper and tighten the union nut.
2. Place a jack under the right rear suspension arm, and raise the arm to remove pressure regulator from affecting rear brake operation.
3. Install the caliper vertically, with the bleeder valve at the top, and while holding it in this position, remove air from the caliper.
4. Place a 20.0 mm thick bar between the caliper piston and caliper (i.e., in the position normally occupied by the brake pads) so that the piston does not come out of the caliper.
5. Remove the clamp from the brake pipe, then connect the bleeder valve and the bottle with a transparent hose and use one of the bleeding methods to remove air from the caliper (1 - bleed valve, 2 - bar).
6. Depress the brake pedal until the caliper piston comes into contact with the bar.
7. Partially unscrew the bleed screw and remove the bar from the caliper.
8. Insert the caliper piston into the caliper bore by pressing the piston and turning it clockwise.
9. Tighten the bleeder screw and remove the transparent hose from the bleeder screw.
10. Lower the jack and remove it from under the vehicle.
Installation
1. Screw the caliper onto the brake hose.
2. Clean the threads of the guide pin bolts and coat them with an anti-twist agent (Loctite Frenetanch).
3. Install the caliper and screw in the lower guide pin mounting bolt, tightening it to the required torque.
4. Install the protective head on the guide bushings.
5. Tighten the union nut to the required torque.
6. Install brake pads.
7. Remove the clamp from the brake hose.
8. Remove air from the brake system.
9. Install the wheel and lower the car.
