Models with 1.9L engine
1. Fuel injection advance is set when installing the timing belt. Whenever you suspect a malfunction, remove the timing belt covers and check that. that the mounting holes on the flywheel, camshaft and high-pressure fuel pump are correctly aligned and the locking tools can be inserted (see paragraph 3 of chapter 2B). If the mounting holes are correctly aligned, the injection advance of the high-pressure fuel pump is set correctly (Peugeot/Citroen does not provide any data for static or dynamic injection advance adjustment for this engine; on the WJY engine, the injection advance is constantly changing to one degree or another BEU). If not, remove and reinstall the timing belt as described in chapter 2B.
Models with a 2.0L engine
2. On a 2.0L engine, fuel injection advance is set by the ECU based on information received from various sensors. Checking and adjustment can only be performed using special diagnostic equipment (see paragraph 1).
