Caution: When performing any work that involves disconnecting the steering wheel and wheels (steering wheel, steering column switch, steering column, steering rack, etc.) ensure that the steering column switch rotating contactor is locked.


Set the wheels in a straight line. When disconnecting, ensure that the electrical connectors are unlocked normally; when connecting, ensure that the electrical harnesses are installed and secured correctly. Disconnecting the electrical connectors should be done without applying force to the harnesses and connectors (it is prohibited to pull on electrical harnesses). Turn off the ignition.

Wait 3 minutes before disconnecting the battery. Disconnect the battery.

Remove the driver's airbag and steering wheel (see section "Steering").

Loosen the mounting bolts (2) and remove the lower steering column cover (3).

Loosen the mounting bolts (2) and remove the lower steering column cover (3).


Lower the steering column to its lowest position.

Remove the top cover (4).

Remove the top cover (4).


Disconnect the connectors (in area "a").



Loosen the mounting bolt (5) and remove the clamp (6).

Disconnect the combination switch levers under the steering wheel (7) (in area "b").

The contact ring of the new unit does not require adjustment.

Note: Positioning the "0" point of the unit located at the top of the steering column can be done after installing the steering column paddles on the steering column.

Please follow the following sequence of operations carefully.



Press the center of the contact ring (8).

Turn the contact ring clockwise without force until the number "0" is visible in hole "c".

Note: In this position the slip ring is secured.


Installation



When installing, check the condition and correct position of the fixing elements at the top of the steering column.

Install the parts in reverse order.

Tighten the mounting bolt (5) to 2 Nm.

Check the functionality of electrical equipment.
