Removing
1. Remove the fuel tank as described in paragraph 10.
2. Press the locking elements on the quick coupling (-Oh) and disconnect the fuel line (-s) from the top of the pump. Plug the end of the fuel line to prevent dirt from entering.
3. Check if there are alignment marks on the tank, pump cover and retaining ring. If the markings are not visible, apply your marks using a quick-drying ink such as typing correction fluid.
4. Turn away a lock ring and take it from a tank. It is best to use a screwdriver for this, hooking it on the protrusions of the retaining ring. Gently tap the end of the screwdriver to turn the ring counterclockwise until it can be removed by hand. Alternatively, a special Peugeot/Citroen tool can be used that fits over the lugs and allows the ring to be released using a ratchet and extension.
5. Carefully remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank, being careful not to damage the float lever of the fuel gauge sensor. Remove the rubber o-ring and discard it; when installing, use a new one.
6. Please note that the fuel pump is only supplied as a whole; individual items are not supplied.
Installation
7. Install a new o-ring on top of the fuel tank.
8. Carefully drive the pump into the fuel tank being careful not to damage the float arm.
9. Position the pump so that the factory or cut-out marks on the pump and tank are aligned. On some types of pump, the lip on the pump housing fits into a cutout in the tank to ensure proper alignment.
10. Install the circlip and tighten it securely until the mark on it aligns with the mark on the pump.
11. Connect the fuel line (-s) to the pump, and then install the fuel tank as described in paragraph 10.
