Note. To carry out this operation, you will need a brake pedal pusher.
Removing
Secure and raise the vehicle on a two-post lifting platform.
Disconnect the battery.
Install a brake pedal hold down device to reduce brake fluid leakage when the brake hoses are disconnected.
Remove the front left wheel and front left mudguard (see corresponding operation).
Disconnect the connector in the area «A».
Loosen the nut (1) and bolt (2).
Move the horn bracket.
Unfasten the wiring harness in the area «b». Disconnect couplers (3) And (4) (Possible brake fluid spill).
Attention. Seal the inlets and outlets of the hydraulic block to prevent foreign matter from entering.
Turn away bolts (5) and remove the hydraulic block with bracket.
Installation
Attention. Remove the plugs of the holes for connecting the brake cylinders immediately before installing the brake pipes.
Note. The hydraulic unit is supplied filled with brake fluid.
Install hydraulic block with bracket.
Install bolts (5) And (2) (see tightening torques).
Connect fittings (3) And (4) (see tightening torques).
Fix the wiring harness in the area «b».
Install the horn bracket.
Install Nut (1) (see tightening torques).
Plug connector «A».
Bleed the brake system (see corresponding operation).
Install the front left mudguard and front left wheel.
ECU wiring
When replacing the hydraulic unit:
- wire the ECU with a scan tool;
- vehicles with dynamic stabilization system (ESP);
- calibrate the steering angle sensor using the scan tool;
- read the current trouble codes.
