- steering wheel speed;
- power steering fluid temperature (LDS).
Unlike hydraulic power steering, electric power steering only consumes electrical energy when it is in operation, so the system is not connected directly to the car's engine, which helps reduce fuel consumption. The electric power steering is connected directly to the battery.
The electric power steering system incorporates the classic mechanical steering system with the addition of the following elements:
- steering angle sensor (1);
- ECU for electric power steering (2);
- electric motor (3).
