- power steering fluid temperature (LDS).
Unlike hydraulic power steering, electric power steering consumes electrical energy only when it is operating, so its system is not directly connected to the car's engine, which helps reduce fuel consumption. Electric power steering is connected directly to the battery.
The electric power steering system includes a classic mechanical steering system with the addition of the following elements:
- steering wheel angle sensor (1);
- Electric Power Steering ECU (2);
- electric motor (3).
