Front axle

The Peugeot 207 is equipped with a pseudo-MacPherson type front axle with independent front wheels and an anti-roll bar (diameter 20 or 21 mm). A "compressed type" steering knuckle, in which a double-row ball bearing is used (diameter 72 or 82 mm) with built-in magnetic wheel (48 polar pairs). The lower suspension arm is stamped from a metal plate. The ball joint of the steering knuckle is riveted to the lower suspension arm. The front and rear joints of the lower suspension arm are with a vertical axis.

The subframe is welded, painted, and mounted on the body using guide tabs. Subframe extensions (depending on the country) there are two types: those mounted on two mounting protrusions of the subframe or those bolted to the lower beam and to the front part of the body.
