Removing
Raise and block the vehicle by hanging the front wheels. Remove the wheel.
Use the tool [1] to block the hub so that it does not rotate.
Loosen the drive shaft nut.
Attention. When unscrewing the drive shaft nut, do not use the brake - this can lead to shearing of the brake disc mounting bolts.
Loosen then remove the drive shaft nut (1).
Remove the mount (2) wheel speed sensor.
Loosen the tie rod end nut (3).
Remove the tie rod ball joint using the tool [3].
Special fixtures:
1 - fixture for fixing the hub 6310-T;
2 - key for unscrewing the steering knuckles FACOM DS-12;
3 - ball joint puller 1892-T;
4 - lever for disconnecting the ball bearings of the steering knuckle 0622.
Remove the front brake disc (see corresponding operation).
Remove the bolt (4).
Remove mounting bolt (5) ball joint! lower arm on the steering knuckle.
Attention. Be careful not to break the ribbed ball joint guard with the tool chain [4].
Using the tool [4], remove the lower knuckle arm ball joint.
Attention. When removing the steering knuckle, hold the drive shaft in the differential housing.
Remove the steering knuckle from the drive shaft.
Install the key [2] in the hole in the steering knuckle and turn a quarter of a turn to open the clip.
Remove the swivel.
Installation
Install the key [2] in the hole in the steering knuckle.
Reinstall the rotary knuckle.
Attention. Observe the correct position of the shock absorber in relation to the steering knuckle (label in the zone «A»).
Insert the drive shaft into the steering knuckle.
Note. When reinstalling the lower control arm to the steering knuckle, make sure that the knuckle ribbed guard is in good condition (no breaks in the protective cover) and that it is correctly positioned (label).
Clean the ball joint rod, move the rubber protective cap from top to bottom to check its elasticity, install the protective cap to! it was stretched to the max.
Insert the lower arm ball joint into the steering knuckle.
Install and tighten:
- bolt (4) torque 54±5.4 Nm;
- bolt (5) torque 40±4 Nm.
Install the parts in reverse order.
