Replacing the seatback forward folding cable (Peugeot 307)

To remove the seatback forward folding cable:
  • remove the front seat;
  • slide the small luggage pocket under the front seat;
  • remove the pocket in the back of the front seat by pulling it down;

  • release lever 1 from the clamps (figure 10.83) seat back tilt adjustment;
  • remove cover 2, unscrew screws 4 and remove lever 3 for adjusting the seat height;

  • remove the amplifier 1 from the seat (figure 10.84);

  • unscrew bolt 3 (figure 10.85), move the trim 1 away from the seat adjustment drive side and disconnect the electrical connector 2;

  • disconnect cable 2 (figure 10.86) from lever 1 of the seat back forward folding drive mechanism and cable sheath 3;

  • use a 7.5mm drill to drill out the rivets 1 (figure 10.87) and remove block 2;

  • slide the seat cover to gain access to axle 1 (figure 10.88) swivel bracket;
  • remove the swing arm axle;
  • remove handle 2 of the seat back forward folding mechanism drive;
  • remove the cable mounting shaft from the seat back forward folding mechanism drive handle;
  • release the cable sheath fastening and remove the seatback forward folding mechanism drive cable from the front seat;

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account that during installation there should not be a pocket for small luggage under the seat.

The seat back forward folding cable is adjusted using adjustment block 1 (figure 10.89), which is installed under the seat cushion.

To adjust the seatback forward recline cable:

  • using a flat-head screwdriver, lift up the lock button A (figure 10.90), to unlock the cable in the adjustment block;
  • make sure the cable moves freely in the adjustment block;

  • move the seat back forward folding mechanism handle 10 mm (figure 10.91);
  • simultaneously lower the locking button A (see Figure 10.90) adjustment block under the seat;
  • check the adjustment by moving the seat several times.
