The volume of air entering through the heat exchanger is determined by the mode of the air intake fan with a rheostat type regulator. The choice of the mode is due to the inclusion of additional resistances. The resistances are located in the fan connector, if a malfunction occurs, replace the connector assembly. The direction of air flow in the cabin is shown in fig. 1.93.
Recommendations for using the ventilation system
When using a ventilation system, do the following:
- set the ventilation speed control to a position that ensures effective air renewal in the cabin. At the same time, it must be remembered that the position of the regulator «OFF» (turned off) leads to a cessation of air supply and fogging of glasses;
- select the air flow direction mode corresponding to the greatest comfort and weather conditions;
- to obtain comfortable conditions, gradually change the temperature of the incoming air;
- to ensure the appropriate direction of air flows, keep the intake and guide grilles of the fan air ducts open;
- periodically check the condition and replace the dust filter of the ventilation unit.
Air temperature control
Pic. 1.94. Heating and ventilation controls
By changing the position of the regulator 1 (pic. 1.94) the air temperature in the cabin is adjusted. When the control knob is moved to the right (red zone) the temperature increases, and when shifted to the left, it decreases.
Adjustment of distribution of air on salon
When setting switch 2 (see fig. 1.94) in this position, the air flow is directed to the windshield and side windows, which ensures the removal of condensate and frost. To quickly remove frost and condensation from the windshield and side windows, set the maximum temperature and air supply in the following order:
- set the regulator for the intake of outside air into the passenger compartment to the extreme left position - «outdoor air»;
- set the temperature and speed control of the incoming air to the maximum supply position;
- close the central and side ventilation grilles.
Direction of air flow to the windshield and side windows, as well as to the feet of passengers.
The direction of the air flow towards the feet of the passengers. Recommended for low ambient temperatures.
Direction of air flow to the central and side ventilation grilles. Recommended at elevated ambient temperatures.
Air flow control
Regulator 3 (see fig. 1.94) sets the fan operation mode and has positions «OFF», «1», «2», «3», «4», from off to maximum feed.
Regulator 4 (see fig. 1.94) air intake mode
The intake of outside air corresponds to the normal mode of ventilation.
The intake of outside air is stopped, the recirculation mode is on, which ensures a quick warm-up of the passenger compartment. This mode should be short-term, as it leads to fogging of the glasses.
Rear window heater
Electric heaters of the rear window and exterior mirrors are switched on with one button 5 (see fig. 1.94) and only work when the engine is running. At the same time, automatic shutdown of electric heaters is provided 20 minutes after they are turned on. They can be turned off forcibly by pressing the power button 5 again.
