Replacing the hood lock drive (Peugeot 207)

Hood lock



Loosen the bolts (1).

Move the lock (2).

Disconnect the hood opening mechanism drive cable (3) (in area "a").

Remove the lock (2).

Remove the lock (2).

Note: To disconnect the cable from the lock, it must be removed.


Turn off the ignition.

Disconnect the battery.

Remove the front bumper and headlights.

Remove the battery and its bottom tray.

Disconnect the hood release cable (see above).

Note: Mark the original cable routing.


Remove the front pillar trim (see below).

Loosen the bolts (4).

Move the cable lever (5), the BSI unit away from its support, and the wiring harnesses.

Loosen the bolts (6).

Remove the BSI unit support (7).

Remove the BSI unit support (7).


Remove the hood release cable (3).



Remove the plug with the hole (8) for the cable passage from the front shield.

Remove the hood release cable assembly (3) and lever (5).

Remove the hood release cable assembly (3) and lever (5).


Installation



Install the parts in reverse order.

Tighten the bolt (4) to 6 Nm.

Check for the presence of a sound-insulating plug with a hole for the draft (9).

Install and tighten the bolts (1). Loosen the bolts (1) by ¼ turn.

Close the hood.

Close the hood.


Adjust the gaps and align the elements (see below).

Open the hood.

Tighten the bolts (1) to 10 Nm.
