Caution: Before any work on the compressor, charge the air conditioning system to the required refrigerant level. If the system malfunction still occurs: Perform the checks described below.
Preliminary check
Visually inspect the air conditioning compressor.
Check all system components and connections for damage or deformation.
Make sure the pulley is not impacted or damaged.
Check if the compressor clutch engages when 12V power is applied to its winding.
Check the condition of the power cable and connector.
Check the compressor housing for cracks (at the compressor mounting points).
Check if the air conditioning compressor inlet and outlet are damaged.

Check the air conditioning compressor using a tester.

Oil level control
Attention. Compressor oil is very hygroscopic, use only new oil when performing work.
It is necessary to distinguish between three types of work:
- working with contour (no leaks);
- small leak;
- big leak.
Working with the contour (no leaks)

Using a charging and recirculating unit without an oil separator:
- drain the low pressure circuit as slowly as possible to avoid spilling oil;
- filling with liquid refrigerant is carried out without adding oil.
Using a charging and recirculation unit equipped with an oil separator:
- drain the liquid refrigerant from the air conditioner circuit according to the instructions provided in the installation manual;
- measure the amount of oil collected;
- refill with the same amount of oil that was collected.
Minor leak
Slow leaks do not result in oil loss, and it is sufficient to apply the same strategy as when working on a circuit that does not have leaks.
Big leak
This type of failure can lead to oil loss, as well as communication of the circuit with the atmosphere.
Perform the following operations:
- replace the replaceable filter and drying element (if necessary);
- remove as much oil as possible (when replacing the element that is the cause of the work).
Before filling or during filling the circuit with R134 fluid, add 120 cm³ of new oil into the circuit.
