Removal
Raise and secure the vehicle in the raised position (use a two-post lift). Remove the rear wheels.
- A: left side.
- B: right side.
Unscrew the bolts (1) and remove the protective element (2).
Cars with rear drum brakes
Remove the center console (see the corresponding operation).
Loosen the nut (3).
Disconnect the parking brake cables (4) at the rocker arm level.
Disconnect the parking brake cable housings from the body.

Cars with rear disc brakes
Disconnect the parking brake cables (4) (in area "a").

Remove the parking brake cables (4) from the guide elements.

All cars
On each side: Disconnect the brake hoses (5) from the brake pipes (in area "b").
Close the holes on both sides with plugs.
Disconnect the connectors (6).

Remove the rear suspension springs (see the corresponding operation).
Support the rear axle crossmember with a lifting device.
Loosen the bolts (7) (on each side).

Loosen the bolts (8) (on each side).
Move the rear axle (downward direction).

Installation
Place the rear axle under the body in the same position it was in when removed.
Loosen the bolts (9) (on each side).
Remove the upper spring support cup (10) and the lower cup (11).

Raise the rear axle to a height of "X" - 160.5 mm using a jack for lifting units.
Note: The rear axle is automatically centered by means of flange bolts (8).

Note: All bolts (8) must touch the cap (cover) before tightening the first bolt to the specified torque.
Tightening torque 70 Nm.
Install the parts in reverse order.
