1. The only parts of the generator subject to wear are the brushes and rotor bearings.
2. Brushes should be inspected every 120,000 km and replaced if necessary. The bearings are sealed and do not require lubrication.
3. Inspect the alternator drive belt every 7,500 km. If it is worn, stretched or cracked, the belt should be replaced. If the belt is in normal condition, check its tension. Replace the belt or adjust its tension (see section 10 and section 11).
4. Every 7500 km, clean the outside of the generator with a rag soaked in kerosene (especially around the vents on the side opposite the fan). Check the reliability of the generator and voltage regulator wiring.
