1. Under normal conditions, the battery should be supported by a charged alternator. The need to frequently charge the battery from an external source indicates a malfunction of the battery or alternator, or that the battery charge is being lost through a short circuit.
2. A battery that has not been used for a long time should be recharged every 6-8 weeks.
3. Disconnect the battery from the car's electrical system. It is advisable to completely remove it from the machine before connecting it to the charger.
4. The charging speed should not exceed 1/10 of the battery capacity (in Ah). This gives a charging speed of 3-6 Ah, which is exactly what most chargers provide.
5. Connect the charger to the battery, observing the polarity ("+" To "+" and to "-") and turn on the charger. The charger must be turned off before disconnecting the battery from it. Make sure the room where you charge is well ventilated.
6. Avoid fast battery charging. When rapidly charging a closed battery, it may explode due to the accumulation of gases in it. Any battery can be damaged by overheating caused by charging too fast.
