1. Disconnect the wires from the battery.
2. Before removing the alternator drive belt, it is necessary to remove the water pump/fan drive belt (see Chapter 2A, Section 10).
3. Loosen the generator pivot and adjusting bolts, turn the generator towards the engine and remove its drive belt from both pulleys.
4. Install the new belt in reverse order and adjust its tension (see section 10).
5. Install and tension the water pump/fan drive belt (see Chapter 2A, Section 10).
6. Connect the wires to the battery.
