Removal
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
Remove the cover from the battery.
Remove and set aside the upper brake fluid reservoir.
Move the brake pressure relief pipe to the side.
Loosen the clamps and remove the fuel supply, return and drain hoses from the fuel filter. Close the fuel supply and return hoses with suitable plugs.

Remove two bolts 5 (figure 4.40) and remove the protective cover 6 from the fuel filter.
Unscrew bolt 10 securing the fuel filter.
Remove fuel filter 4 from the holder by turning it in the direction of arrow A.
Disconnect the contact connectors of the fuel heater 8 and the water sensor 3.
Drain the fuel from the filter into a suitable container.
Remove the fuel heater and water sensor from the filter. Remove the sealing rings from them.
Installation
Screw the fuel heater into the fuel filter and tighten it to 10 Nm.
Screw the water sensor into the fuel filter and tighten it to 15 Nm.
Connect the contact connectors to the fuel heater 8 and the water sensor 3.
Connect the fuel supply, return and drain hoses to the fuel filter and secure them with clamps.
Replace the fuel filter and tighten the bolts to a torque of 5 Nm.
Install the filter cover and secure with bolts.
Install the brake pressure relief pipe.
Replace and secure the brake fluid reservoir.
Install the battery cover.
Fill the fuel system with fuel using a pump, while looking at the transparent hose, make sure there are no air bubbles in the fuel system.
Start the engine.
Check the fuel supply system for leaks.
