Measuring fuel pressure

Caution: When connecting and disconnecting the pressure gauge, use a rag to protect the engine from possible fuel splashes.

Remove the motor switching block (BSM).

Relieve pressure in the fuel system:
  • remove fuse F5 from the engine junction box (in zone "a");
  • start the engine and leave it running for a few seconds (to remove fuel from the fuel system).

Disconnect the fitting (in area "b") (common rail (2) of the fuel injection system).

Connect the measuring device to the fuel supply pipe (1) and to the high-pressure fuel rail (2).

Replace fuse F5 of the engine control unit.

Start the engine.

Measure the pressure.

Working pressure: 3.5 bar.

Turn off the engine.

Relieve pressure in the fuel system (perform operations similar to those described above).

Disconnect the accessories and collect the fuel in a container.
