Tools for removing fuel injection pumps:

Tools for removing fuel injection pumps:
1 - High pressure fuel pump pulley puller 0194-N;
2 - stopper preventing rotation of high pressure fuel pump pulley 0194-J;
3 - calibration pin of high pressure fuel pump 0194-A.


Removal



Caution: Replace high pressure hoses with new ones each time they are removed.


Place the car on a lift.

Note: After turning off the ignition, light the ignition for 15 minutes before disconnecting the battery to ensure that the initialization results of the various ECUs are remembered.


Disconnect the battery.

Remove:
  • decorative cover;
  • air filter housing;
  • exhaust gas recirculation valve EGR (see the corresponding operation).

Remove the timing belt (see the corresponding operation).

Remove:
  • fuel pipes;
  • bolt (1) of the high pressure pipe support;
  • high pressure tube.

Install tool 1 on the high pressure fuel pump pulley (2).



Install tool 2 on the high pressure fuel pump support.

Loosen the nut to remove the pulley from the fuel pump shaft.

Remove tools 1 and 2.

Disconnect and plug the fuel return hoses.

Disconnect the pressure sensor connector from the fuel pump.

Unscrew the bolts (3), (4) and (5) of the rear support of the fuel injection pump and remove the rear support (6).

Unscrew the three fastening bolts (7) of the high-pressure fuel pump on its support and remove the high-pressure fuel pump (8).

Installation



Note: Strictly adhere to the recommended tightening torque values.

Check for the presence of the key (9). Install the high-pressure fuel pump on its front support.

Tighten the three bolts (7) to a torque of 22 ±3 Nm.

Install the high pressure fuel pump rear support.

Tighten:
  • bolt (3) with a torque of 10 ±1 Nm;
  • bolts (4) with a torque of 10 ±1 Nm;
  • bolt (5) with a torque of 20 ±2 Nm.

Install the pulley (2) of the high pressure fuel pump.

Install tool 2 on the fuel pump support.

Tighten the fuel pump pulley nut to a torque of 50 ±5 Nm.

Reconnect the high pressure fuel pump pressure sensor connector.

Note: When adjusting the timing drive, set the fuel injection pump to the check point using tool 3.


Reinstall:
  • new high pressure tube;
  • bolt (1) of the high pressure pipe support;
  • fuel pipes;
  • exhaust gas recirculation valve EGR.

Install the air filter chamber.



Connect the battery.

Take it for a road test:
  • put in 3rd gear;
  • set the engine operating mode to 1000 rpm;
  • increase engine speed to 3500 rpm.

Remove the air filter housing.

Check the tightness of the fittings. Install the air filter housing and decorative cover.
