Dynamic tensioner



Dynamic tensioner (dV6TED4 engine):

Dynamic tensioner (dV6TED4 engine):
a - gauge hole;
b - maximum elongation mark;
c - zero stretch mark;
d - belt stretch control mark (fixed on the engine).


Visual inspection of the dynamic tensioner marks allows monitoring of the extension of the accessory drive belt.

Note: If the marks "b" and "d" match, the belt needs to be replaced.

a - position "maximum wear" of the drive belt;
b - nominal position.


When removing the belt, check for hard spots, noise or oil marks on the dynamic tensioner and accessory pulleys. After installing the belt, rotate the engine four revolutions and check the extension of the accessory drive belt.
