Recommended fixtures:
1 - set of plugs 0188.T;
2 - calibration pin for double flywheel 0188-T;
3 - calibration pin for camshaft 0188-T.
Preliminary operation
Remove:
- damper drive;
- battery cover.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Raise and secure the front of the vehicle.
Remove:
- soundproof shield under the engine;
- right front mudguard.
Disconnect, plug and move with plugs 1:
- fuel supply pipe;
- fuel return pipe.
Support and raise the engine. Remove the flange and right engine mount.
Move the wiring harness (1).
Remove:
- camshaft position sensor;
- intake camshaft cylinder head cover (2);
- bolts of the upper cover of the timing drive;
- top timing cover (3).
Rotate the crankshaft in the direction of normal rotation.
Get the black marks aligned «b» And «With» chains with teeth «A» And «b» camshaft drive sprockets (no more than 40 revolutions of camshafts).
Attention. If it is not possible to align the chain and camshaft sprocket marks, calibrate the camshaft drive first (see «Removal and installation of camshafts»).
Fix:
- crankshaft using tool 2;
- camshaft gear using tool 3.
Install:
- intake camshaft cylinder head cover (2);
- 19 mounting bolts;
- camshaft position sensor (without tightening its mounting bolt).
Tighten the 19 intake valve cover bolts in the order shown.
Camshaft Angle Sensor Adjustment
Fix the flywheel at the control point using tool 2.
Reusable probe: position the 8.5 diameter drill in the area «e» between the head cover above the intake camshaft (2) and camshaft position sensor (5). tighten bolt (4) torque 20 Nm. Remove tools 2 and 3.
New sensor: install camshaft position sensor (5) in front of the gear (camshaft sprocket). tighten bolt (4) torque 20 Nm. Remove tools 2 and 3.
Install the top timing cover (3).
Reinstall wiring harness (1).
Install the right engine mount and flange.
Fix the fuel inlet and outlet pipes.
Remove tool 1. Reinstall other parts in reverse order.
Lower the car onto its wheels. Connect the negative battery terminal.
